2022 National Cooperative Business Congress

The Philippine Cooperative Center (PCC), in partnership with Novaliches Development Cooperative (NOVADECI), spearheaded the National Cooperative Business Congress last November 28–29, 2022, at the NOVADECI Convention Center in Quezon City. This 2-day congress was attended by 400 cooperative leaders from all over the country.

With the theme, “Cooperative Enterprises: Catalysts for Socio-Economic Development," the 2022 National Cooperative Business Congress gathered top financial cooperatives, cooperators, and leaders who presented their strategies and methods to address our country's major challenges in health, food, energy, public transportation, food security, and the value chain.

Some of the notable people in the congress were Mr. Ariel Guarco - President of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), Mr. Balu Iyer - Executive Director of the International Cooperative Alliance for Asia & Pacific (ICA-AP), Mr. Nicanor M. Briones - House Cooperative Development Committee Chairperson and AGAP Partylist Representative, Mr. Sofronio V. Talisic - Representative from the National Anti-Poverty Commission, Ms. Celia Atienza - President of the League of Cooperative Development Officers, Ms. Lucy G. Furo - Chairperson of the National Cooperative Development Council, Ms. Divine C. Quemi, Chairperson of the Philippine Cooperative Center and former NATCCO Chairperson, and Ms. Elizabeth N. Lopez de Leon, DILG Assistant Secretary for Community Participation.

Cong. Nicanor Briones and Cong. Filmon Espares and other legislative allies were also present at the congress with Usec. Joseph Encabo, the current chairperson of the Cooperative Development Authority. Aside from the plenary discussions, there was also a trade fair where cooperatives and other businesses showcased their products and services.
